Court Determines That Dog Was Provoked Before Bite, Dismisses Suit.

Samantha Parker, the owner of a border collie named Chip, was charged with failing to control her animal after a dog attack in which Chip bit a young girl while in a store in Barrow, England.

Parker faced a fine, and her dog faced being put to sleep, as Parker went to trial in the Furness Magistrates’ Court last week.

Witnesses to the dog bite incident came to Parker’s defense, though, claiming that the dog had only reacted after the little girl had tormented him and stepped on his tail.

The judge was convinced that Chip had been provoked, and by Thursday, November 8, both Parker and Chip were cleared of all charges regarding the dog attack incident.
