Firefighters in Portsmouth, New Hampshire were able to save the life of a 17 year-old cat named Tiki Bear after a fire engulfed the cat’s home.
Tiki Bear’s owners, Dave Adams and his wife, were at work when the fire started. Their neighbors called the fire department after seeing smoke coming from the house on October 24, 2012.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered Tiki Bear unconscious in the home. The firefighters carried him out, and administered oxygen to get the cat breathing again. Tiki Bear was then taken to a local veterinary clinic for further treatment.
Adams had been living in and renovating the home for 25 years, and said it dated back to 1742.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
