State officials have reported that two great white sharks have recently been detected off the coast of Cape Cod, MA. The two great white sharks were tagged last summer and were thus able to be detected by transmitter signals.
Last summer, a number of shark sightings closed several beaches around the Cape Cod area. The sharks feed on seals and it is believed that they generally swim toward the coast because they are following the seals for food.
