Two women were admitted to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries on Monday, August 13, after two German shepherds attacked and bit them.
The dogs belonged to one of the two bite victims, and did not have a history of violent behavior.
The women, ages 27 and 30, were released from the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton, MA after their bite wounds were treated.
The dogs were quarantined for 10 days, after which period their owners were free to decide what to do with them.
Experts say that it is unusual for German shepherds to attack their owners, and that this dog attack was most likely caused when the dogs were startled by some external source.
