A 65 year-old grandmother from New Zealand was recently brutally attacked by a Pitbull-American Staffordshire dog.
As is common in dog attacks, the dog was a “family dog,” belonging to the victim’s grandson. The grandmother had requested that the dog stay at her house, and her family became concerned when they did not hear from her.
When family members arrived at the house looking for her, they found the grandmother lying unconscious with severe personal injuries from the dog attack. She had been attacked repeatedly for at least two hours. Her right arm had the most serious injuries, which was bitten down to the bone and missing most of its flesh. She also broke her right leg, possibly from her attempts to escape the animal attack.
The dog was euthanized after the dog bite attack.
